CAT Result 2016 – The entrance test for CAT 2016 was held on December 04, 2016, and the result is expected to be announced in the month of January 2017. The CAT 2016 result will be available online and the candidates can access the same will be hosted in this article. To access the CAT Scorecard, the candidates are required to log in with their CAT 2016 User ID and Password. Last year, due to some technical glitches, the CAT scores were available online even before the official announcement. Thus, the exam officials sent the CAT scorecard via SMS to the candidates.

About the CAT Result 2016

This year, approximately 2.32 lakhs MBA aspirants appeared for CAT 2016. The date for the announcement of the result is not fixed, but it is expected to be available by available by the 2nd week of January 2017. The CAT 2016 scorecard will be available only in online mode and the CAT officials won’t be sending the scorecard via email or mail. The scorecard for CAT 2016 will furnish the following details –

  • Sectional scores.

  • Total score.

  • Sectional percentile.

  • Total percentile.

About the CAT 2016 Score and Percentile

Based on the marking scheme, the total score of the candidate will be calculated. Then, this score will go through a process called “Equating” i.e. it will be normalized across various sections. Once, the scores are normalized, then it will be converted into a percentile for shortlisting.

CAT 2016 Cutoff

The CAT 2016 percentile is the Gateway to the prestigious IIMs and various other top-rated MBA Colleges of India. The CAT cutoff is the minimum percentile required to get short-listed in the next level of the selection process of the IIMs and other B-Schools. The shortlisted candidates will be intimated via official websites of the participating B-Schools and also, an interview letter will be sent. The candidate’s CAT 2016 percentile, academic profile and work experience will be considered for shortlisting and selecting candidates at various stages. It must be noted that the selection and the shortlisting procedure of the Institutes will vary from each other.
