The JEE Main 2016 is a national level entrance exam for candidates seeking admission in engineering and technological courses offered by various government, private and funded institutions including NITs and IIITs. The JEE Main 2016 will give an opportunity for candidates eyeing B.Tech courses while those who clear the JEE Main 2016 will also be eligible to take the JEE Advanced. JEE Main Application form will be issued online in the month of December 2015 and candidates will be able to avail it till January 2015.

JEE Main 2016- Eligibility Criteria

  • The age of the candidate will be recorded as mentioned on the secondary education board certificate.
  • The candidates must clear the 12th class Board exam in PCM from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks in the core subjects.
  • Only eligible candidates will be allowed to fill the JEE Main Application form, hence read each and all norms carefully.

JEE Main 2016- Application Procedure

The candidates can only apply online as the JEE Main 2016 Application form will only be available online.

  • The first step is to visit the official website of the JEE.
  • Click on the link indicating ‘JEE Main Application form’.
  • Fill in all the details required carefully.
  • Click on ‘submit’ after checking all the details entered.
  • The last date to apply will be in the last week of December 2015

Application Fee

The JEE Main Application form will not be completed without the payment of the Application fees. The application fees varies according to the candidate’s categories and also their preference of taking the JEE Main 2016 Exam. Here, We have listed the division of the application fee according to the category –

1. For Offline Exam

  • General/OBC (Paper 1 or Paper 2) – Rs. 500 Girls/Rs 1000 Boys
  • PWD/SC/ST (Paper 1 or Paper 2) – Rs.500 Girls/Rs. 500 Boys
  • General/OBC (Paper 1 & 2) – Rs. 900 Girls/Rs. 1800 Boys
  • PWD/SC/ST (Paper 1 & 2) – Rs. 900 Girls/Rs. 900 Boys

2. For Online Exam

  • General/OBC (Paper 1 or Paper 2) – Rs. 250 Girls/Rs. 500 Boys
  • SC/ST/PWD (Paper 1 or Paper 2) – Rs. 250 Girls/Rs. 250 Boys
  • General/OBC (Paper 1 & 2) – Rs. 650 Girls/Rs. 1300 Boys
  • PWD/SC/ST (Paper 1 & 2) – Rs. 650 Girls/Rs. 650 Boys

Below are the ways of submitting the application fees –

  • Use of  net banking/credit card/debit card.
  • Fees can be paid using e-challan from HDFC Bank, Canara Bank, Syndicate Bank or ICICI Bank.
  • Do not forget to take a printout of the receipt for further reference.
